1.) Cut a strip of paper or a piece of string. The paper should be no wider than 4" (10 cm) and at least 3/4" (2 cm) long.
2.) The paper or string should be wrap around the base of the finger to be sized. Make sure the measurement is not too loose or too tight.
3.) By using a pen mark the string or paper where it completes the circle.
4.) Use a ruler or a tape measure in taking the length of the paper or string. Measure it from the beginning to the mark.
5.) To find the corresponding ring size refer the measurement on the chart below.
MeasuredLength(inches) | RingSize |
1 13/16th 1 15/16th 2 1/16th 2 3/16th 2 5/16th 2 7/16th 2 9/16th |
4 5 6 7 8 9 10 |
- It's better to wrap the string or paper around your knuckle as well as the base of your finger and make adjustment, as needed, so the ring size will not be too tight for your knuckle or too loose on the base of your finger.
- Note the season in which you're measuring .Keep these in mind that fingers tend to expand a bit during summer and shrink during winter so adjust your measurement accordingly.
- Fingers may also swell if you are pregnant or taking steroid-based medication. If the swelling is temporary (i.e., you are not planning to get pregnant soon or you're taking the medication short-term), buy a smaller ring.
